What to Expect During Your Visit

While we expect to care for COVID-19 patients for some time, we’ve taken extra steps to create a safe, secure environment for our patients, families and staff, which includes requiring a face mask (covering the nose and mouth) when visiting a Beaumont location. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to work together to beat the pandemic. During your visit, please note the following restrictions that are designed to keep you and your family safe:

Face Masks

Everyone visiting must wear a face mask covering the nose and mouth at all times, regardless of vaccination status.Any person refusing to wear a mask will not be allowed to visit. If a person is wearing a mask with a one-way vent, an ear loop mask must replace the vented mask or may be worn over the vented mask.Ear loop masks will be provided at each entrance if you do not have one. When needed, additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided by Beaumont and must be worn at all times.

The CDC does not recommend using one-way valves or vented masks as they do not prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Anyone wearing these types of masks into a Beaumont facility will be asked to cover them with a standard ear-loop mask.

While restrictions are being lifted statewide, here in our hospitals and outpatient facilities we will continue to require masks and screen employees, vendors, patients and visitors. We take care of incredibly sick and vulnerable people, and with the more contagious Delta variant on the rise and a significant portion of the population unvaccinated, we need to continue protecting our patients, families and staff.

Dr. Nick Gilpin, Beaumont's Director of Infection Prevention

Safe Visitation Practices

  • Practice social distancing, keeping 6 feet from others at all times. A person visiting may be asked to leave a care area if safety or social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • If visiting an inpatient, stay in the patient’s room at all times except for quick trips to the bathroom or to purchase food.
  • Learn more about how Beaumont is keeping you safe.

  • Each person visiting must complete a COVID-19 screening upon each visit.
  • People screening negative will be given a sticker that must be worn at all times.

Anyone under the age of 16 is not allowed to visit except under extreme conditions as approved by leadership. For outpatient appointments, patients must arrange for childcare or reschedule the appointment as necessary.

提前叫博蒙特”s COVID-19 hotline, 800-592-4784, or your physician’s office before attempting to get screened. If you are experiencing life-threatening symptoms, please call 911.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, especially before eating, after coughing or sneezing, and after using the bathroom.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. The best way to cover your mouth and nose is to cough or sneeze into the elbow of your arm. Throw tissues away immediately and wash your hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

To reduce the number of unwanted germs that are taken back home, we strongly discourage personal items being brought to the hospital that are not truly necessary. If you do have items to drop off, please limit the items to one small bag of personal belongings. Do not send items of significant value, with the exception of personal phones or devices your loved one may use to communicate with you. Items should be placed in a clean bag and labeled with your loved one’s name and room number. Leave the bag with the staff manning the main entrance. The bag will be delivered to the patient room. Please make sure only healthy family members bring items to the hospital.

For your comfort, the following amenities are available:

  • A blanket and pillow may be provided when requested
  • 24/7 Access to vending machines on some patient units and lobbies
